Meet the Doctors
Dr. Michelle Samosinski
Dr. Sam is dedicated to lifelong learning and frequently updates her skills through continuing education. In recent years, her training has focused on dental implant placement and oral appliance therapy for obstructive sleep apnea. She completed the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine Mastery 1 program in 2022, earning the AADSM Qualified Dentist Designation. Additionally, she completed over 100 hours of mentored implant surgery training between 2024 and 2026, and now performs simple implant surgeries in the clinic.
She values the trust her patients place in her and takes pride in helping even the most anxious individuals feel at ease with her calm, caring demeanor.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Sam enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband, Rob. They share a passion for skiing, hiking, surfing, and gardening. When the chance arose to relocate to the beautiful Alberni Valley and join the practice in 2016, they embraced it wholeheartedly. They have never looked back. Dr. Sam purchased the practice in 2021, and the couple is thrilled to be long-term members of the Port Alberni community.
Dr. Dominika Kovaleva
Dr. Dominika Kovaleva grew up in Toronto, Ontario. She attended McMaster University in Hamilton, where she obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology degree. She then completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto. During this time, she received awards for excellence and proficiency in restorative dentistry, and graduated as one of the top students in her class. Dr. Kovaleva enjoys all aspects of dentistry. She is known for her kind and compassionate approach, and strives to provide patients with positive, safe and comfortable dental experiences.
Dr. Kovaleva and her fiancé Sid moved to Vancouver Island for their love of the outdoors and they haven’t looked back since! They spent years in the Comox Valley before making their way over to Port Alberni, which they call their new home. When not in the office, Dr. Kovaleva is usually hiking in the mountains. She also has a strong love for the ocean and can be found scuba diving, paddle boarding, and kayaking. She also likes to play pickleball and tennis, and is working on improving her golf swing.
Dr. Joslyn Dosanjh
Dr. Joslyn Dosanjh was born and raised in Victoria, BC where she attended the University of Victoria and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology. After graduation, Dr. Dosanjh gained an interest in the field of dentistry and attended the University of British Columbia where she obtained a Doctorate of Dental Medicine while taking on many roles in leadership and academics. She excels at working with anxious patients and enjoys creating positive experiences in the dental office. Dr. Dosanjh is excited to work and provide excellent patient-centered care in her community.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Dosanjh enjoys exploring the island, cooking, reading, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
